The Santa Monica circuit hosts a wide range of motorcycling and auto-racing competitions every year. A visit to the autodrome will give you the opportunity to see some really exciting, top-class competitions featuring such world-famous figures as Valentino Rossi, Marco Melandri and Andrea Dovizioso.
In September, one of the most famous events takes place: the Misano Grand Prix, when the Misano Circuit hosts a stage of world Moto GP.
The San Marino and Rimini Riviera Grand Prix is a star attraction in the motorcycle racing calendar. However, the Santa Monica Grand Prix also has a lot more to offer, with shows, events and folklore celebrations taking place all along the Riviera during the period of the competition.
The Rimini Riviera Grand Prix resulted from a collaborative arrangement between three different parties: the Republic of San Marino, the Province of Rimini and the Misano World Circuit.
In addition to the Moto GP, the Misano circuit hosts other important competitions. In May, the European Truck Racing Championships are held, a weekend of races between famous makes of truck, together with a rally and exciting display.
In June, the customary stage of the FIM Superbike World Championships takes place on the Santa Monica circuit. The San Marino Round also involves various fringe events on the beach and around the area.
Auto-racing also features in september, with the Misano Racing Weekend. Hundreds of young drivers take part in motor-racing competitions, as well as veterans of the circuit. MotoGweek and the Misano World Week End are also associated with Dedikato, a special talk show involving drivers from the MotoGP World Championships.
Enthusiasts can also experience the thrill of powering a motorbike or racing car at the various free trials which take place at the circuit. These are organized by the “Guidare Pilotare” driving school, and are held on weekdays or at those weekends free of fixtures.
You can also enjoy yourself at the Santa Monica Circuit by challenging your friends to go-kart racing. The go-kart track is 900 metres in length and is used both for Misano go-kart competitions and free trials.
